BREAK-OUT OF 4TH GRADE
You've learned a lot in 4th grade science this year. You're probably ready to go on to the 5th grade where you will learn about electricity, magnets, cells, DNA, volcanoes, earthquakes, and more! BUT....before you can go to 5th grade, you have to BREAKOUT of the 4th grade. All you have to do is find the clues to solve each lock. Once you've figured out each lock, you are ready to go to 5th. Everything you need to get started is on this page. If you get stuck, you have two hints available to you. Just ask your teacher for the hint when you're stuck.
Evaporation is when the sun heats up water in rivers or lakes or the ocean and turns it into vapor or steam. The water vapor or steam leaves the river, lake or ocean and goes up into the air. Water vapor in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid, forming clouds high up in the sky. Precipitation occurs clouds get heavy and water falls back down to the earth in the form of rain, hail, sleet or snow. When water falls back down to earth as precipitation, it may end up on land or way down deep in the ocean. When it ends up on land, it will either soak into the earth and become part of the “ground water” that plants and animals use to drink or it may run over the soil and collect in the oceans, lakes or rivers where the cycle starts over again.
