This week, the students compared and contrasted the NASDAQ and the NYSE. All of the student teams lost money (less than 5%) in the Stock Market this past week, so they bought and sold to try and improve their earnings. Students chose the corporations that they will be researching and writing about for the InvestWrite competition. They have learned the founding story of the corporation so far. The highlight of the day for the students was joining the TAG Google Classroom. Students were able to access documents for research in our online classroom, as well as set up their Google Drive and work together on a collaborative Google document. They found this process absolutely amazing!
A highlight of the week was harvesting and eating lettuce that we grew from seed in the
garden water tower. (See photos below.) Other photos from the day, courtesy of our
photographer, Griffin, can be found HERE.
Fourth Grade TAG The students were so excited about joining and working in our Google Classroom that they didn't even realize we missed our first recess !! Students were able to access and collaborate on documents, as well as set up their Google drive and e-mail one another. These students are becoming experts on Mars in order to design a Martian colony where the needs of food, water, shelter, work space and recreation can be met. In the next few weeks, they will design and construct their model Martian colony. If you'd like to experience chill bumps like the students and I did this week, view 50 Years of Mars Exploration (below). I will not be here next Thursday because I'll be learning at the GA Ed Tech Conference. My friend of 25 years, and one of the best teachers I've known, Mrs. Reinoehl, will be my substitute. |
